As Vancouver prepares for the 2026 municipal election, we want to hear directly from the people who know our neighbourhoods best.
From July through September, neighbourhood houses across Vancouver are inviting neighbours to share what matters most to them and their communities. Whether you are a participant, volunteer, neighbour, or local business owner, whether you can vote or not —your perspective matters.
We have identified six themes that shape everyday life in our neighbourhoods

The City plans, regulates and invests in the infrastructure and services that support quality of life.
Neighbourhood houses help bring those investments to life by building trust, fostering belonging, and creating opportunities for people to participate in their community.
Neighbourhood houses do not just deliver programs—we bring people together, strengthen neighbourhoods, and help community voices shape local decisions.
This fall, we will bring what we hear directly to Vancouver’s mayoral and council candidates as part of our municipal election campaign, helping ensure community voices inform conversations about the future of our city.
Strong neighbourhoods build strong cities.
Across Vancouver neighbourhood houses, throughout the summer, we will gather community ideas, experiences, hopes, and priorities through conversations, events, and online engagement.
In September and October we will compile and collect this feedback, to help us ask mayoral and council candidates questions about their commitments to our neighbours and communities.
This fall, we will bring what we hear directly to Vancouver’s mayoral and council candidates at our Voter Engagement & Debate Event on October 8, at John Oliver Secondary (530 E 41st Ave, Vancouver).
