ANHBC Announces Leadership Transition and Appointment of New CEO

The Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia (ANHBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Lyle as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 20, 2026. Jennifer will succeed Liz Lougheed Green, who will step down as CEO on July 31, following a planned leadership transition.

Jennifer joins ANHBC from the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon, where she has served as CEO since 2021. She brings extensive leadership experience across the non-profit, health, and community care sectors.

A people-centred, transformational leader, Jennifer has deep experience working alongside community members to effect change. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an ability to understand and navigate complex, challenging environments to create meaningful, positive impact. Jennifer believes strongly in the values, vision, and mission of ANHBC. Her approach focuses on working alongside teams and partners to align on collective impact, translating shared vision into clear priorities, and deepening organizational resilience.

“Jennifer brings the kind of leadership ANHBC needs at this moment—grounded, thoughtful, and focused on both people and outcomes,” said Dan Watson, Board Chair of ANHBC.

“She understands the strength of neighbourhood houses and the realities organizations are navigating across the province. The Board is confident she will build on the strong foundation already in place and help guide ANHBC into its next phase.”

Jennifer will lead ANHBC into a period of strategic and intentional growth, continuing to support neighbourhood houses and communities across Metro Vancouver.

“I am honoured to be joining ANHBC and to work alongside the neighbourhood houses and outdoor centre across Metro Vancouver,” said Jennifer Lyle.

“This is a critical time for community-based organizations. I look forward to listening, learning, and working in partnership to strengthen our collective impact and the communities we work alongside.

Liz Lougheed Green has led ANHBC through a period of significant stabilization, transformation and growth. She has remained in her role to support a careful and complete transition, including a brief overlap period with Jennifer.

During her tenure, Liz guided a community-driven Strategic Transformation process centred on relationships, dialogue, and a shared commitment to Land, People and Place—helping to establish a strong foundation for ANHBC as a living and evolving organization.

“It has been a privilege to serve ANHBC and to work alongside such a committed and passionate movement,” said Liz Lougheed Green.

“I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built together and confident in the path ahead. Jennifer brings a strong values alignment and the leadership needed to steward this work forward.”

The Board recognizes that this leadership transition comes at a time when many organizations across the sector are navigating funding pressures and increasing demand. However, it remains confident in ANHBC’s ability to continue building healthy and engaged neighbourhoods by connecting people and strengthening our collective capacity to create change.
