Land Justice and The ANHBC HR & Payroll Team
At ANHBC, our commitment to Land Justice calls us to listen, reflect, and act with intention. Here’s how Miracle, Human Resources Assistant on the Central Team, is bringing the Voice of the Land into her team’s everyday work creating space for connection, and deeper purpose.

“I am a part of the HR and Payroll Team and we have explored how to incorporate the Voice of the Land into our work.
First of all, we take as many walks as we can during our meetings when the weather is favourable, this gives us the chance to breathe in, centre ourselves, have conversations outside of work and also talk about our environment where we live. We are also motivating each other by taking walks every morning before logging in on the days we work from home.
During our meetings, the first few minutes after we acknowledge the land, we do wellness checks, and I make it a point to ask myself, if I was the land how will I feel about what we are doing.
It’s very important because at the end of the day it shows us that we are more than employees at ANHBC, we are individuals with lives outside of work. There’s a bigger picture to everything we do that goes beyond the organization but affects generations to come.
Giving the Land a voice has made quite an impact, I see it in the amount of laughter we share when we take those walks, we are able to discuss our agenda without the formality of the office and with much more ease.“
