National Indigenous History Month
Journey of Listening, Learning, and Sharing
At ANHBC neighbourhood houses, we are committed to listening, learning, and sharing our insights as we actively work towards decolonization. We believe in fostering a deep understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, histories, and contributions.
Our transformation work is guided by the values and teachings of those who came before us. Just as ancestors cared for the land and each other, we now carry the responsibility as stewards of this land and to each other, continuing their legacy with care, respect, and commitment to justice.
In June, we celebrate National Indigenous History Month in Canada, culminating in National Indigenous Peoples Day and the Summer Solstice on June 21st. Together we honour and celebrate across our neighbourhood houses alongside our Indigenous partners and friends - we'll be sharing events and programs in our stories throughout June!
