Dreaming of a sense of belonging and purpose
Building a Bright Future Together
Make It! Program is a therapeutic art-based program for youth ages 15-30 who may need support with employment or identify as living with a disability (including mental health challenges), at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House. Make It! offers free group art therapy sessions every Thursday afternoon, as well as 1-on-1 support, counseling, and opportunities to participate in community art projects and murals with honorariums.
The Make It! Program is a creative sanctuary for young artists—painters, graphic designers, and creators—who are navigating the dynamic landscape of youth life in Vancouver. Through art-based therapy, these talented individuals explore their creativity, build new skills, and foster meaningful connections. Here, art becomes a tool for personal growth and community, offering a sense of belonging and purpose.
“As an individual who struggles with depression and anxiety, the support that I’ve got at Make it! Program honestly is a life changer” Liane - participant and Artist Mentor
By sharing their creative processes, participants build strong, supportive relationships, creating a vibrant community where everyone’s voice is celebrated and valued. They create beautiful murals on houses and produce fundraising items like umbrellas, tote bags, mugs, and more. The Make It! Program offers a safe and inspiring space for youth to express themselves, gain confidence, and take steps toward a brighter, more stable future, building strong connections as integral members of our community.
“The biggest impact is Make it! Program had on me has been allowing me to grow my confidence and my ability to recognize my abilities and my own skills.” Participant/ Artist mentor
