We are proud to support over 1000 licensed child care spaces operated locally by neighbourhood houses. Our programs aim to assist children to understand the meaning of their experiences more completely through observations, continuous dialogue, and documentation of their work. Both full and part- time programs, as well as out- of- school programs, are offered for children aged 0- 12 years old.
We have offered childcare and early childhood development services since our very early days. ANHBC was incorporated in 1894 and operated an orphanage and a “fresh air” camp at Crescent Beach. In 1938, we established the first neighbourhood house at 7th and Pine in Vancouver and began offering preschool and daycare programs. Our steadfast commitment to children and early childhood development continues to this day. ANHBC is included in the Province of BC’s Child Care Prototype for $10/day child care.
``The gift of `{`ANHBC`}` child care workers has been the most valuable gift our family has ever been offered.``
