Neighbourhood House Week (NHW) is celebrated annually by neighbourhood houses across Metro Vancouver. It is a time when everyone connected to and impacted by a neighbourhood house comes together to share stories, make connections, and celebrate the growth of the Neighbourhood House Movement! This year Neighbourhood House Week is May 5-11.
To celebrate we're host Neighbourhood House Day: Dreaming Forward an all-day extravaganza is a vibrant homage to the invaluable role neighbourhood houses play in fostering a sense of belonging and support within our communities. Join us in person at Heritage Hall (3102 Main St, Vancouver) on May 15 from 11am-7pm for the full day or drop in to enjoy specific activities and performances that fit your schedule.
Some of the event highlights:
- Evening Hosted by Jaylene Tyme: Artiste, performer and advocate Indigenous Two-Spirit Trans human, Treaty 4 Plains Cree, Saulteaux, Métis
- Market Place filled with neighbourhood house vendors, artists and activities
- Dreaming Corner - a place for neighbours to have conversations about what is meaningful to them like climate action, Decolonization, health and wellness, and more
- Music, chair yoga and more on the Main Stage

This special day-long celebration will spotlight the vital role of the Neighbourhood House Movement across BC. It's an opportunity to build awareness, engage in meaningful dialogue, enjoy a marketplace, participate in co-creation sessions, and much more.
